Renthal – Fatbar36 Handlebars
The Renthal R-Works Fatbar36 is the result of over five decades of handlebar innovation, testing, and racing at the highest level. Designed with direct input from Renthal’s factory race teams, it’s built to deliver the same trusted strength and flex riders rely on — but with massive weight savings.
At its core is Renthal’s new 36Tech™ clamping diameter and exclusive Zarilium® aluminum alloy, a proprietary material with 20% greater tensile strength than Renthal’s already class-leading 7010 T6 alloy. That combination allows engineers to reduce wall thickness without giving up durability, making the Fatbar36 an incredible 36% lighter than the original Fatbar — all while maintaining identical flex and strength characteristics.
This reduction in high-mounted weight makes a real difference on the bike. The lighter bar improves steering precision, reduces rider fatigue, and helps your bike feel more balanced in the air and through corners. Renthal also redesigned the taper for the same responsive feel as the standard Fatbar, so you’ll notice less vibration but the same familiar control.
Used by championship riders like Ken Roczen, Chase Sexton, and Team Honda HRC, the Fatbar36 has already proven itself at the highest levels of motocross and supercross competition.
Why We Like It:
Renthal didn’t just shave weight — they rethought how a handlebar should be built. The 36Tech™ design and Zarilium® alloy push strength-to-weight ratios further than ever before. On the track, it feels crisp, light, and balanced, but still has that signature Renthal flex that saves your hands and shoulders during long motos.
Why It’ll Work for You:
The Fatbar36 reduces weight at one of the highest points on your bike — the handlebars. That change has a real effect on handling. With less mass up top, the bike feels easier to turn, more stable through ruts, and less fatiguing in long motos. It also helps the bike recover faster when it gets kicked around, since there’s less rotational inertia working against you.
The larger 36mm clamping area gives the bar a more secure connection to the mounts, reducing unwanted movement during hard landings or crashes. Despite the larger clamp diameter, the ends taper back to a standard 22mm size, so your grips, levers, and controls fit just like they always have.
Renthal tuned the wall thickness to match the flex characteristics of the original Fatbar, so the feel on the track doesn’t change — it still absorbs vibration and impacts without feeling soft or vague. That means less arm pump and better control, especially late in the day when fatigue starts to set in.
Every part of the Fatbar36 has a purpose. The lighter weight makes the front end more responsive, the flex keeps it comfortable, and the stronger clamping interface keeps everything solid when you need it most.
Key Features:
• 36% lighter than standard 28mm Fatbar®
• Built from Zarilium® aluminum alloy, exclusive to Renthal
• Same flex and strength as Renthal Fatbar28 for familiar ride feel
